Organize your browser bookmarks!
How many of you out there have more than 50 bookmarks, but don’t have them placed in folders to differentiate them from each other? Did you ever consider how much time you waste daily trolling through those bookmarks looking for the website you want? You can avoid this insidious waste of time by taking 15 minutes - yes, just 15 minutes - to organize your bookmarks.
How you organize your bookmarks is completely up to you. Some people find that making very specific folders works the best, others feel that simple labels (work, school, newspapers) is enough. It doesn’t matter what the folders are named or how many of them you make, as long as your method works for you.
I’ll admit that I haven’t been as good with this as I’d like to be. If I took a screenshot of my PC in my ome office you’d see nice little rows of bookmark folders, but if I took a screenshot of the PC down here in the living room where I’m blogging from, it would be an entirely different story. I probably have 200+ bookmarks on this PC, but I haven’t organized any of them.
Right now I’m trying to learn more about Twitter, but I don’t have time to read all the interesting articles I find, so I bookmark them. If I had just taken the time when I was starting to do this research to make a folder named “Twitter”, I would have all these resources at my fingertips instead of having to search through my bookmarks every time I want to reference something I read in an article. See - even people who blog about simplifying their lives sometimes need a little help!
My daughter is going to daycare the next two days, and I vow to organize my bookmarks. I will take note of when I start and when I finish so I can report back to you all. Wish me luck!
If there’s a topic you’d like me to address, just leave it in the comments section and I’ll see what I can do! Thank you to my readers, and keep the comments coming!
